Liberated-Learning Choice Program

(pilot)

The Liberated-Learning Choice Pilot Program is a research-based program that provides whole-family support for Black families choosing to homeschool their children or school-at-home via online distance learning.  The program consists of 6 components:

Community Resources

Families have access to community resources and wrap-around support provided by our partner community organizations.

Research

Families participate in surveys, interviews and/or focus groups throughout the school year.

Monthly Support

Home-educators have access to a monthly support group via Zoom.

How does it work?

Students are schooled at home either as traditional homeschooled students or through their public/private school online program.

Why Research-based?

 Our mission is to learn what barriers families experience when educating their children at home, test solutions that break down those barriers and learn what choices families make in order to sustainably and successfully homeschool. Family voice and agency is central to how we design our programming and services. This information helps us and our partners to provide the support that is most relevant and beneficial to our families. 

Who is eligible?

  • Family Identifies as Black/African American

  • 1st-12th grade

  • Lives in Denver-Metro Area

  • Homeschooling or schooling-at-home for the 20/21 school year 

  • Is committed to participation requirements 

  • Experiences or anticipates experiencing any barriers to succesfully homeschooling or schooling-at-home
